Produced using premium Criollo cocoa beans, a rare delicacy, grown by a family that has been active cacao farmers in the region of Sur del Lago, Venezuela for generations. This chocolate is created with 80% cocoa using only beans from this area in Venezuela which, unlike chocolate that uses a blend of beans, allows you to taste the distinct flavor created by the climate, soil, and Criollo cocoa trees of the individual region.
It offers an intensive flavor experience with strong cacao notes supplemented by notes of raisin, cherry, espresso, licorice, black tea, cinnamon, orange blossom, and a hint of prune to create a slow yet intensive finish.
This chocolate is exceptionally well balanced and uniquely smooth, which is somewhat rare for high cocoa content chocolate which typically has acids and volatiles within the cocoa bean that put forth a bitter taste. The strong cocoa notes and intense chocolate flavor have low acidity without the astringency that most people are accustomed to with extra dark chocolate. What's more, it's a powerful source of antioxidants and minerals and contains the many heart-healthy benefits of a high cocoa content chocolate. Combined with fresh-roasted, protein-rich almonds, it's a sweet snack that’s bold, delicious, and healthful!
