Alix Holyman, Local Sales, Marketing and Events Manager at Green Dirt Farm
Alix left the corporate world behind in 2014 in pursuit of a career in cheese. Her first taste was cheese mongering at a little cheese shop in Pittsburgh, PA that specialized in locally made cheeses called Wheel and Wedge. In 2016 she took over ownership of Wheel and Wedge and transformed it into the area's first only American-made cheese shop with an emphasis in educational events. Being a Kansas City native, she loved carrying the unique artisanal cheeses that Green Dirt Farm in Weston, MO offered. So, upon moving back to the area in 2018, Green Dirt was a natural fit for her talents and her love of local cheese.
René Bollier, President + Executive Chef at André’s Confiserie Suisse
René, grandson of founders André and Elsbeth Bollier, began his training at age 11 under his family’s supervision. After attending the University of Kansas, René continued his culinary education training at some of the top pastry shops in Switzerland. He and his wife Nancy returned to Kansas City in 2002 to lead the family business into the third generation. Nothing inspires René more than simply being in the kitchen, perfecting classic recipes and creating new ones for the incredible community that has made André’s a tradition for sixty-five years and counting.
Alix and René will lead the tasting, providing background and tasting notes on the products provided as well as tips for pairing each at home. Guests will receive three cheeses ranging in size from 4-8 ounces and three multi-piece chocolates ranging from 1.5-8 ounces meant to share with that special someone or a small group.
Order to ship nationwide or pick up from either Green Dirt Farm in Weston, MO or André's in KC, MO on Tuesday, Feb 9th or Wednesday, Feb 10th. If you select shipping for your tasting kits, your packages will ship out on 2/8-2/10 and will arrive two days later.
