14/06/1952

André and his wife Elsbeth open the first André's shop in Kansas City at 5008 Main Street, next door to the current location.

05/10/1955

A second location downtown at 10th and Grand opens.

02/02/1959

The main shop moves a few doors south into 5018 Main Street, site of our current parking lot entrance.

14/03/1960

The business continues to grow, adding on to the KC site. While the Downtown KC shop is now closed, new locations will soon be opening in Denver, Houston, St. Louis, & Menlo Park, CA.

31/05/1967

Son Marcel and his new wife Connie have joined the business!

15/05/1971

The business moves into a brand new space next door to expand the shop, production area and tea room.

09/05/1976

After 30 years of sharing his Swiss tradition, Kansas City mourns the loss of André Bollier. His family will carry his recipes, discipline and love of food for generations to come.

15/11/1985

Kansas City Art Institute professor Jason Pollen creates "Banquet for André", which still hangs in our Tea Room. Look closely and you'll find a box of André's Chocolates, Tea Cookies, Linzer Torte, Pastries and Swiss scherenschnitte placemat!

20/09/1986

The signature arched entry is added, along with an expanded chocolate room downstairs.

10/11/1993

André's grandson René and his wife Nancy join the business.

03/04/2002

André's daugher Brigitte and her husband Kevin open André's Rivaz in Overland Park, Kansas.

05/10/2002

André’s celebrates its 50th year in business with this Chocumentary video showing how our family and longtime employees make many of our Swiss-style creations.

10/10/2005

Construction completed on bake room expansion and addition of upstairs offices.

05/10/2006

Grand opening of the new Coffee and Wine Bar!

18/10/2014

Tea Room renovation completed, giving it a more modern European feel, while keeping the original Swiss artifacts.
